Today is Rosh Hashanah– it’s a new year. As we reflect on the events on October 7th and its horrific aftermath, we re-dedicate ourselves to struggle for a lasting peace in the Middle East with the immediate creation of a democratic state of Palestine alongside a peaceful democratic Israel.
We stand in solidarity with our families and friends both in Israel and Palestine– and relief from the horrors of war. Even the Jewish scriptures which call for “the obligation to actively reduce conflicts and prohibit violence against the innocent” is a clear call for a ceasefire in the region.
The United Jewish Peoples Fraternal Order, founded in 1930, stands in solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters in Gaza, the West Bank, and globally against genocide and for their liberation.
Shana Tova!
Have a Happy New Year!
